- Spend less time on the device
- Increase the distance between the device and your body with a speaker or headset
- Do not carry the phone in your pocket unless it is off
- Consider sending a text or email instead of making a call
- Check your phone’s Specific Absorption Rate (SAR), an estimate of the radiofrequency energy absorption by a user’s head and body when using the device. Ask the manufacturer, or you can visit these lists of devices by lowest and highest SAR levels.
Gliobastoma (GBM) is an incurable cancer and the most common primary malignant brain tumor according to a study published in the National Library of Medicine. “GBMs present at a median age of 64 years (Thakkar et al., 2014) but can occur at any age, including childhood. Incidence is slightly higher in men than women (1.6:1) and in Caucasians relative to other ethnicities (Ellor, Pagano-Young, & Avgeropoulos, 2014).” Most of the new information about the relationship between brain cancer and mobile phone usage points to gliomas, or tumors, that begin growing in the brain’s supportive tissue. In May 2016, the National Toxicology Program (NTP) released a study that found an increase in malignant gliomas in the brain of rats exposed to cell phone radiofrequency radiation (RFR). The findings were reviewed by expert peer reviewers selected by the NTP and National Institutes of Health (NIH).
“The occurrences of two tumor types in male Harlan Sprague Dawley rats exposed to RFR, malignant gliomas in the brain and schwannomas of the heart, were considered of particular interest and are the subject of this report.”
The toxicology program is very important cause it’s the first gold standard study that shows cause and effect from cell phone use.
In these studies, cell phone waves are not found to be directly destroying cells. Microwave radiation from cell phones creates an environment that promotes DNA damage and inhibits the bodies ability to repair chromosomes that are impacted in the normal course of living. This leads to an environment that promotes cancer.
