A brain injury, also called a traumatic brain injury (TBI), acquired brain injury or head injury, can occur a number of ways. One of the most obvious is sudden trauma to the head, such as a car accident or impact from a fall or playing football. The signs of a brain injury may be apparent at first, but not always. - Spasticity: tight or stiff muscles with an inability to control those muscles
- Gastrointestinal and genitourinary complications
- Gait abnormalities
- Agitation: psychological and physical restlessness
- Cognitive decline
- Posttraumatic headaches
