Cheryl Penrod

Cheryl Penrod brings a rare and powerful combination of legal training and clinical medical experience to the firm’s medical malpractice and personal injury practice.   As both a licensed attorney and a registered nurse, she possesses an insider’s understanding of how hospitals, physicians, and healthcare systems operate- knowledge that proves invaluable when investigating complex medical issues and advocating for injured clients.

Before entering the practice of law, Cheryl earned a nursing degree and worked hands-on in patient care, developing a deep appreciation for medical standards, protocols and the realities of healthcare delivery.  Cheryl’s professional path changed after the loss of a family member following a medical error; an experience that profoundly shaped her commitment to patient safety and accountability.

Whether handling surgical errors, misdiagnoses, birth injuries, medication mistakes, or hospital negligence, Cheryl leverages both legal and medical expertise to build strong, evidence-based cases and pursue the justice clients deserve.  She is involved with all aspects of the firm’s most important medical malpractice cases.  This begins with laying the foundation of each case through a combination of investigation, research and engaging trial ready experts to honing medical issues for trial and aiding trial lawyers in building destructive cross examinations for defendant’s expert witnesses.

Clients and colleagues alike value Cheryl for her meticulous attention to detail, compassionate approach, and unique ability to bridge the gap between medicine and law- an advantage that sets the firm apart in complex medical malpractice litigation.
